This Privacy Policy describes how Argumind, Inc., a California corporation ("Company," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, discloses, stores, and protects information when you visit argumind.study or use any related products, services, subscriptions, study tools, practice materials, analytics, study-planning features, interactive text-based tutoring features, and all related functionality we make available (collectively, the "Services").

By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Services.

1. Scope of This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect:

  • on argumind.study;
  • through your account and use of the Services;
  • in email and other electronic communications between you and Company; and
  • through tools, features, and content that link to or reference this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to information collected offline or by third parties through websites, services, or applications not operated by Company, even if they are linked from our Services.

2. Children's Privacy

The Services are not intended for anyone under 18 years of age.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without legally required consent, we will delete that information. If you believe we may have collected personal information from or about a child under 13, contact us at privacy@argumind.study.

We may collect the following categories of information, depending on how you use the Services:

  • subscription and purchase information;
  • questions, prompts, messages, feedback, and other text you submit through the Services; and
  • information you provide when you contact us for support or other inquiries.

Payment and transaction information

If you make a purchase, payment information is processed by Stripe, our payment processor. We may receive and store limited transaction and billing information from Stripe, such as payment status, subscription status, billing records, transaction identifiers, and limited payment method details. We do not necessarily store full payment card information ourselves.

Information collected automatically

When you use the Services, we may automatically collect information such as:

  • IP address;
  • browser type;
  • device type;
  • operating system;
  • approximate region inferred from IP address by hosting or security providers;
  • referring URLs;
  • pages viewed;
  • dates and times of access;
  • usage patterns;
  • log data; and
  • other technical and diagnostic information.

Study and usage information

We may collect information about how you use the Services, such as:

  • the features you use;
  • your study activity;
  • your interactions with interactive text-based tutoring features;
  • your progress and preferences;
  • the content you view; and
  • the time spent using certain parts of the Services.

Information from third parties

We may receive information from service providers and third parties that help us operate the Services, such as Stripe for payments, hosting and infrastructure providers, Google if you choose Google sign-in, and email delivery providers such as Resend.

4. How We Collect Information

We collect information:

  • directly from you when you create an account, subscribe, make a purchase, use the Services, or contact us;
  • automatically through necessary cookies, local storage, server logs, and similar technologies used to operate and secure the Services; and
  • from third parties that support our business and the Services.

We use necessary cookies and similar technologies, including local storage, to operate the Services. For example, these technologies help support authentication, secure sessions, checkout flows, and your saved preferences such as theme settings.

These technologies help us:

  • keep you logged in;
  • remember your preferences;
  • support authentication and checkout flows;
  • maintain security and prevent abuse.

We do not currently use advertising pixels or non-essential third-party analytics cookies on the Services. If that changes, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any notices or choices required by law.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. If you disable cookies, some features of the Services may not work properly.

Service providers

We may share information with vendors, contractors, and service providers that help us operate the Services, such as hosting and infrastructure providers, Stripe for payment processing, billing, and subscription management, Google if you use Google sign-in, email providers such as Resend, and vendors that help us with account authentication, communications, security, and support.

Business transfers

We may disclose or transfer information in connection with an actual or proposed merger, acquisition, financing, asset sale, reorganization, bankruptcy, dissolution, or similar transaction.

Legal compliance and protection

We may disclose information if we believe doing so is necessary or appropriate to:

  • enforce our agreements and policies;
  • protect the rights, property, or safety of Company, our users, or others; or

We may disclose aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify you.

8. Sale or Sharing of Personal Information

Company does not sell your personal information for money.

Company also does not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If Company ever engages in practices that constitute a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under applicable law, Company will provide any notices and choices required by law.

9. User Inputs and Interactive Features

If you submit prompts, questions, messages, or other text through interactive text-based tutoring features or other parts of the Services, we may store and use that information to provide the Services, improve functionality, maintain security, troubleshoot issues, enforce our policies, and analyze usage.

Please do not submit sensitive information you do not want stored or processed through the Services unless it is reasonably necessary for your use of the Services.

10. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to:

  • provide the Services;
  • maintain your account;
  • process transactions;
  • comply with legal, tax, accounting, and recordkeeping obligations;
  • resolve disputes; and
  • enforce our agreements.

We may retain aggregated or de-identified information for longer periods.

11. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for protecting access to your account.

Account information

You may be able to review or update certain account information through your account settings.

Email communications

You may opt out of receiving promotional emails by following the unsubscribe instructions in those emails. Even if you opt out of promotional emails, we may still send you transactional or service-related communications.

Cookies

You may manage cookies through your browser settings.

Deletion requests

You may request deletion of your account or personal information by contacting us at privacy@argumind.study, subject to applicable law and any legal or operational reasons we may need to retain certain information.

13. State Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable law, you may have certain privacy rights, which may include the right to:

  • know or access the personal information we collect about you;
  • request deletion of your personal information;
  • request correction of inaccurate personal information;
  • request a copy of your personal information in a portable format;
  • opt out of certain processing, including certain sales, sharing, or targeted advertising; and
  • not be discriminated against for exercising applicable privacy rights.

If you are a California resident and the California Consumer Privacy Act applies to Company, you may have rights to request that we disclose, correct, or delete certain personal information, to opt out of certain sales or sharing of personal information, and to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, subject to legal exceptions.

14. How We Respond to Do Not Track Signals

Some web browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. At this time, argumind.study does not respond differently to browser-based Do Not Track signals.

We do not currently use your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising on third-party sites. If applicable law requires us to honor a recognized browser-based privacy signal for a particular processing activity, we will do so as required.

15. Third-Party Websites and Services

The Services may contain links to third-party websites or may integrate with third-party tools or services. Company is not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing information to them.

Stripe's handling of payment information and certain related personal information is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy and terms.

If you choose to sign in with Google, Google's handling of your information is governed by Google's own privacy policy and terms.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Company may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will post the updated version on this page and update the Effective Date above.

Your continued use of the Services after any update becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
